People tend to talk about Fargo-Moorhead like it is one place. It mostly behaves like one, until you start buying a house. Then the differences show up fast: property taxes work differently on either side of the river, special assessments are a much bigger factor in some cities than others, and the housing stock in each one came from a different era.
